Business and Commercial Law - We provide comprehensive counsel for businesses in all phases from start-ups and wind-ups, purchases and sales, transactions, contracts and dispute resolution to daily management and administration including employment matters. Legal services for business management may include starting, buying or selling a business, establishing a form or entity for the business structure, transactions and corporate governance, workplace documentation, contract drafting and negotiation, leasing and landlord relations, vendor relations and business planning. We also represent businesses through thick and thin including securing financing, financial workouts, debt collections for creditors and debt representation for debtors. Our practice covers business litigation, including internal and external disputes involving contracts, fraud or misrepresentation and other torts, and ownership rights in forums from local boards and commissions to administrative agencies and courts at the state and federal level. We also provide services for mediations, arbitrations and appeals.
Intellectual Property (IP) Law - We provide counsel for establishing and protecting your IP and trade secrets, licensing and distribution of IP (including technology deliverables), non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and enforcement through litigation for infringement.
Construction Law - We represent owners, developers, builders, general and subcontractors, trades, vendors, and others in transactions and contracts through all phases of investigation, purchasing, financing, permitting, development, regulatory compliance and when needed litigation in construction projects. Our attorneys are experienced in construction contracts, subcontracts, vendor relationships and home improvement contracts; mechanics liens and construction litigation; contractor disputes and change orders; construction defects; public works and stop orders; and associated mediations, arbitrations and dispute resolution.
Real Estate Law - Our real estate lawyers represent buyers and sellers, owners, developers, brokers and associations in commercial and residential property transactions, contracts and disputes. We represent landowners in property disputes concerning fence or lot lines, easements, rights-of-way and real property covenants. We also represent commercial and residential landlords and tenants in transactions and litigation including evictions. We provide services in real estate litigation, commercial leases, lending law, homeowners associations (HOA), property transfers and sales through mediation, arbitration and litigation processes.
Civil Litigation - Our firm handles civil litigation (including probate) in most matters that come before a court of law [we do not represent criminal defendants or appear in family court]. This practice area is vast and so is our experience with it. Space limitations prevent a full listing, so you are encouraged to contact us for a case screening; you may be surprised at the breadth and depth of knowledge and experience of our attorneys. Our firm is equipped to provide a response tailored to the demands of the situation: quickly and aggressively or tempered by perspective. Our skilled trial lawyers represent clients in simple to complex cases at all levels of the state and federal courts. We are advocates for negotiated dispute resolution; where possible it inevitably leads to a more timely and cost-effective resolution. When dispute resolution proves unfruitful, however, our lawyers can be aggressive litigators advocating for our clients' legal rights and achieving our clients' goals.
Education Law - After discovering that there is a great demand for representation in this area, our Managing Attorney, Mr. Brysk, took up the charge and now accepts appropriate cases advocating for students in special education matters including IEP and 504 plans, disciplinary actions such as reprimands, dismissals, suspensions or expulsions or athletic eligibility and disqualification.
Estate Planning and Probate Department - This practice area includes Estate Planning, Probate Administration, Trust Administration, Trust and Probate Litigation, Conservatorships and Guardianships. When the Court is involved, these matters are handled in the Probate Department (a division of the Civil Department). Unfortunately, resolving these matters in Court involves more delay, is more and more time-consuming and costly year-over-year. We recommend that all our clients plan to avoid probate court. The best strategy is to put a full estate plan in place with a living trust plus appropriate designations for potential incapacity events. We draft, amend, revise and administer Trusts and Estate plans from the simple to the complex. As with our other practice areas, we are also equipped to go to Court where needed for litigation of disputes
Tax Law - We provide tax planning and representation in audits and tax controversies.
We believe the attorney-client relationship is a collaborative process requiring the attorney to listen as well as speak. This partnership begins the moment you contact our firm for a discussion of your goals and potential options.
